Olney may be a small town, some would call it a village. After all, there are only approx. 8000 deeded real estate properties in Olney. But, you'll find that just about every type of shopping for families is available with the exception of major shopping malls. You can limit the mall action to large purchases and that pleases many parents. The map below shows locations of shopping centers and most shops available in each. HOMEOWNER ASSOCIATION FEES
Many residential communities have Home Owner Associations. These fees often pay for services to
the community for common area maintenance, recreation area maintenance, liability insurance and management fees.
In recent years, the counties have required that communities pay for certain fees such as trash collection rather
than pass these costs on to the counties by way of taxes. It is almost impossible to find a community with more
than 25 homes built within the past 10 years that does not have some level of association management and fees.
